Find Your Moon

Saw this I thought it will help position you for the coming year. Let us leave our orbit of 2013, with all its struggles and its joys and memories, and let us fully enter a new moment setting our sights on further stars, charting the course for our highest selves and contributions. Should we wish to change, let us be bold once again.

Yes, let us be brave and find our moon, chasing a vision so big and unimaginable that the mere thought of it brings sweat to our palms, stuns our heart with anxiety, yet never fails to lift our soul with purpose. under no circumstances shall we settle on challenges that fail to inspire; let them be so real and meaningful to us that we rise each day and pursue them with full intensity, until we have victory or we die.

let us be more disciplined and true, each day taking action, testing things out, failing, getting up again, failing again, learning, rising and rising ever more. This is the stuff of commitment and character, the demands of real contribution.

What’s On Your Stop-Doing List This Week?

This week I want to stop procrastination…it really kills goals and dreams. You need to stop the “I go”, “I will”, “I will do it later” syndrome. It takes away the best part of you and gradually you keep postponing those important things you have on your schedules.

Make it a point of duty this week not to procrastinate and watch you achieve greater result.

Procrastination is the time thief!

Before 2013 Disappears.

By, Ikepme Ekanem Edem

Once I came across a life changing quote which says “It seems strange to me that we look upon New Year’s Day as the beginning of a new cycle for making changes and resolutions. Can there be any greater cycle than the one of 24 hours that is close at hand each day? Think of waiting from one year to another to make new resolutions when each new sunrise brings the birth of a new cycle that is just as full of possibilities as any great cycle can be”. Ever since I came across this statement, I have shelved the idea of New Year Resolutions. As a matter of fact, research has proven they last only a few weeks or a couple of months at best after which we degenerate into our usual routine.

What are the daily resolutions you are making towards being a better person? What are the daily moves you are making towards achieving your goals for the year? Is it not said that a goal without a deadline is a dream? The truth about this matter is that it is the little actions, those day to day activities that sum up to make our lives what it will be or what we intend it be. Gandalf (a character in the movie ‘Lord of the Ring’) said “I have found that it is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep darkness at bay”.

To effect a permanent change whether in our lives, family, office or country we must make a resolve to correct the wrongs we do on a daily basis. Reflecting on the major events of the day and pinpointing where we went wrong and how we could make things go right next time is essential to meaningful progress and peace in our lives. It is not enough that our consciences pricks us each time we go wrong or each time we don’t do what we ought for the attainment of the necessary, there must be an effort on our part as physical beings to ‘course-correct’.

Yes January is over and soon February will follow suit and ultimately 2013. What is that thing you will regret not doing when the year is over? What is that hindering attitude or habit you will regret not shelving? The sooner we start realizing what we are not doing right to further the attainments of our goals the better and quicker the achievements of our goal(s).

Self fulfillment comes when and only if we are committed to achieving those goals set before us…make it a daily decision and not yearly.
